Questions,
answered.
Simple answers to keep you moving.
How do I calculate my running pace?
Divide your total time by your distance. A 50-minute run over 10 kilometers is 5 minutes per kilometer. Choose “Calculate pace” above and enter the two values.
What is the difference between pace and speed?
Pace is time per unit of distance, such as minutes per kilometer. Speed is distance per unit of time, such as kilometers per hour. A lower pace number means a higher speed.
How long is a marathon, exactly?
A marathon is 42.195 kilometers. A half marathon is 21.0975 kilometers. These exact distances are used in every calculation here.
Can I use this for trails and ultras?
Yes. Enter a custom distance and a duration beyond 24 hours. Splits assume an even pace; terrain, stops, weather, and elevation can change your actual time.
How do I convert min/km to min/mile?
Multiply your seconds per kilometer by 1.609344, then convert back to minutes and seconds. The pace converter does this instantly.
